Blind Eye Records is proud to reveal that it has discovered a previously unheard live Blue Orchids recording from 1981! This recording came into our hands via the cavernous collecting ability of John Key and a distinctly circuitous route through the wild mancunian streets. It has been digitally enhanced by jd lennon, who has left in the genuine scrum of Manchester nightlife and the continual chatter of Alan Wise to enhance the period atmosphere. Blue Orchids official bootleg "Blue Orchids Bomb Manchester" is only available through download.

Says Bramah:
"The early eighties were a lot like the early sixties - they were early, in fact everything seemed early and so, we were late. The line up is what has become known as the classic Blue Orchid line up. The venue, I can't quite remember. It was the opening night of a new club, no one can remember which one, I like to think it was called the 'Nuclear Angel', and that it went on to great and impressive days. Much like Blue Orchids"

WORK STARTS ON NEW ALBUM

Working title: Slum Cavern Jest

A new Blue Orchids album is in the offing. After an amicable working split with LTM Records work has begun on a new album. Working ideas and rough tracks, which include the epic "Laid Low", are currently being worked on at John Cooper Clarke's private studio in a leafy suburb of Salford.

At present it is expected that the next album will, initially, be distributed through this site. If you would like to register your interest in preordering, even at this early stage, drop us an email entitled "Slum Cavern Jest" with your details.
